이 작업의 제목인 ‘민들레’는 서태평양의 태풍 이름 리스트 중 하나를 차용한 것입니다. 과학기술의 발전, 인간, 자연과의 영향, 데이터, 기후 변화 등에 대한 고민과 함께 진행된 작업입니다. 대부분의 태풍이름은 태풍의 세기와 영향력이 크지 않았으면 하는 바램에 의해 ‘민들레’, ‘Haiyan’(바다제비), ‘까치’ 등 작은 곤충, 꽃, 동물 등의 이름을 차용합니다.. 과학기술이 해결할 수 없는 자연 재해의 해결을 비과학적 방법인 이름 짓기에 의존하는
것을 보여주는 작품입니다. 전시에서는 유투버 Jim Edds의 ‘Super Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda) - Journey to Tacloban’ 영상과 함께 보입니다.

The Mindulle(dandelion in English) which is the title of this work is one of the names of in typhoon in the Western Pacific. It is a work with the development of technology and science, data, climate change, human and nature. Most typhoon in Western Pacific are named for small insect, flowers such as ‘dandelion’, ‘magpie’ and ‘hiyan’ by hoping that the strength and influence of typhoon are not large. Eventually to solve the natural disaster problem which have become serious due to the technology and development of economy as well as cannot solve by the these, People rely on using non-scientific methods like naming.
